Cwmbran Library renovation
From Monday 24 February 2025, Cwmbran Library will be closed for refurbishment for approximately four weeks.

The work is funded by the Welsh Government’s Transformation Capital Grant Programme and Torfaen Council.
Book loans
Customers will be able to borrow an additional 20 books from Cwmbran Library prior to the closure date. All books borrow after Monday 3 February will not be due for return until after the library opens.
Renew your library items
Pontypool Library will be open on Mondays, between 9am and 5pm, while Cwmbran Library is closed.
You can access digital books, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines for free by subscribing to Borrowbox and PressReader. Find out more about online resources.
Join the Library Service
Request and Collect service
There will be a limited Request and Collect service at Cwmbran Library.
You can also request and collect books and audiobooks from Pontypool and Blaenavon libraries.
Library At Home service
Our free delivery service for books and audio books will continue as normal. For more information, contact Cwmbran Library on cwmbran.library@torfaen.gov.uk or call 01633 647676.
IT support
You can book a PC session at Pontypool and Blaenavon libraries.
Drop-in sessions will be available at Pontypool Library on Fridays, between 2pm and 4pm, and at Blaenavon Library on Wednesdays, between 2pm and 4pm.
Wifi and remote printing is available at Pontypool and Blaenavon libraries.

The following sessions will be held at Gwent House, in Cwmbran:
- Children’s Half Term Story and Craft Session: Tuesday 25th February and Thursday 27th February, 10.30-11.30am. (Booking required)
- Rhymetime: Friday 7th March, Friday 14th March, and Friday 21st March, 10.00-10.30am. (Drop in)
- Knit & Natter: Thursday 27th February and Thursday 13th March, 2.00-4.00pm. (Drop in)
- Under 5’s Story & Craft: Monday 3rd March, Monday 10th March, and Monday 17th March, 10.00-10.45am. (Drop in)
- Lego Session: Tuesday 25th February and Tuesday 11th March, 4.00-5.00pm. (Booking required)
Customer Care
You will be able to book an appointment at the Torfaen Works employment and skills shop, Monmouth Walk, Cwmbran, on Thursdays and Fridays. To make an appointment, contact 01495 762200.
Opening hours will be extended at the Customer Care cash office at Civic Centre, Pontypool, to include Thursdays and Fridays.
Recycling Hub
Recycling items will be available from the Congress Theatre.
