This year, schools were encouraged to litter pick grounds in and around their school for a change to win a prize from Cwmbran Morrisons.

Nant Celyn Primary Schol and Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbran brought together the highest number of pupils to participate in a litter pick earning them special recognition and a hamper full of treats from Morrisons Cwmbran.

Councillor Mandy Owen, Executive Member for the Environment, said: "It's inspiring to see so many young people taking action to keep their communities clean.

“These litter picks not only improve our environment but also instil a sense of responsibility and pride in our pupils.

“The success of these litter picks is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our schools and pupils.

“We are incredibly proud of their efforts, and grateful to Morrisons for their generous support."
